Field Applications Engineer - Asia
Position Description:
The Field Applications Engineer will
provide technical support to customers developing innovative
products based on FyreStorm’s advanced power management
solutions. Job duties include:
- Analyze customer’s product requirements.
- Architect power management solutions to maximize battery
life while minimizing cost and PCB real estate.
- Propose detailed schematics solutions and recommend
components part numbers.
- Provide competitive analysis comparing FyreStorm solution
with the customer’s previous designs.
- Instruct and demonstrate use of design tools.
- Assess competitive information and provide feedback
on market needs to the product marketing group.
- Provide technical support to sales.
- Review product documentation
and write collateral material such as application notes
and technical articles.
Required Skills:
- BSEE degree with a minimum of 2 years experience
designing high volume battery operated portable devices
such as Smartphones, PDA’s, media players or
digital cameras with main focus on hardware design.
- Detailed understanding of SoC microcontrollers such
as Intel’s Xscale, AMD AU1200, Samsung 2440,
etc.
- Familiarity with capture and layout software tools
such as OrCAD, Allegro, PAD’s, etc.
- Basic understanding of DC/DC power conversion topologies.
- Willingness to work in a fast paced environment dealing
with a rapidly changing market and technology.
- Ability to adapt to changes and deliver fast results.
- Good oral and written English communication skills
are a must.
- Traveling required.
- Must live or be able to live in
Taiwan.
Desired Skills:
- Fluency in Mandarin, Korean and/or Japanese languages.
- Low level software (drivers) design experience.
- Familiarity with Windows CE and Linux operating systems.
- Experience
with MS Office software.
