Job ID: 50-0062 ASIC Design Engineer

Position Description:

The ASIC Design Engineer is responsible for the development of modules comprising Power Management SoC ICs including module documentation, Verilog RTL design, simulation, verification, test insertion, and interfacing to the backend layout process and IC production. Participation in full chip verification will also be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements digital modules, subsystems using standard cell-based technology
  • Generates high and low level block specifications
  • Captures designs in high level RTL representations
  • Synthesizes RTL representation into Gate Level representation
  • Conducts simulation of IC designs
  • Performs test insertion, tests vector generation, and fault grading of IC designs
  • Will participate in full chip verification of mixed signal designs.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years IC design with SoC verification, module design, and DFT experience
  • Experience with IC design tools preferably NC-verilog, Ultrasim, DC, Primetime, C, PERL, Mentor DFT, and Verplex
  • Experience in SoC design with a strong focus on Low Power
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology or equivalent

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in mixed-signal design and debug.
  • Understanding of low power design techniques such as clock gating and managing multiple on chip voltage domains.
